Because in most of organizations cannot undertake all of the potential projects identified which the reason is the resource limitations and other constraints. Therefore, an organization’s project selection process and management of those projects should be guided by business strategy. If the project does not connect with business strategy, it may over budget and behind schedule. It involved in two aspects: the first one is strategic planning. Strategic planning use to determine long-term objectives by analysing the strengths and weaknesses of an organization, studying opportunities and threats in the business environment, predicting future trends, and projecting the need for new products and services. It also provides significant information to help organization identify and choose potential projects. The second aspect is SWOT analysis. It analyse strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which is used to support strategic planning.
